Erica Bruce, LCSW PsychotherapistErica Bruce graduated from Texas State University in 1997 with dual bachelor degrees in Psychology and Social Work. She subsequently attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received a Master of Science in Social Work degree in 2002. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is certified by the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners as an Approved Clinical Supervisor. Ms. Bruce has served as a psychotherapist and Assistant Clinical Director at Texas West Oaks Hospital, and as a psychotherapist and clinical social worker at The Methodist Hospital. She was a senior social worker and primary clinician at The Menninger Clinic where she received training in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and the innovative CAMS approach (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicide). CAMS training was provided by David A. Jobes PhD, who developed the CAMS approach. She utilized this approach as part of a research group at The Menninger Clinic along with Jon G. Allen, PhD and Tom Ellis PsyD. She was Director of Outpatient Services for Greater Houston Psychiatric Associates, PLLC from 2009 to 2011. She
joined the University of Texas Psychiatry Department at Texas Medical Center in 2011 to 2015 where she provided Psychotherapy in the outpatient clinic and Resident training in Psychotherapy theories. She is an eclectic therapist and has special clinical interests in trauma, personality disorders, and suicidology.
