Sherry Grogan, PMHNP-BC
Sherry Grogan, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC works with general psychiatry patients ranging from children and adolescents through seniors. She began her career as a PMHNP in a large urban hospital (Houston Methodist Hospital) in Consultation – Liaison specializing in Solid Organ Transplant candidates, donors and recipients. After several years there, she entered the world of private practice and gero-psychiatry, providing care for residents of several Assisted Living and Memory Care facilities.
She earned her Master’s Degree from University of Texas Health Sciences School of Nursing – Houston and received the Sigma Theta Tau Most Outstanding Graduate Student award. She is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She trained with several psychiatrists in a variety of settings, including Inpatient, Consult-Liaison in two large academic medical centers, community, concierge, substance treatment in a variety of settings, and gero-psych.
Ms. Grogan is a Founding Board Member of the Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses Texas (PAPN Texas), a non-profit association. She is recently Past President of PAPN Houston. She enjoys working independently, and also functions collaboratively within a multi-disciplinarian group. She has worked with numerous consultants in conjunction with her work, including the transplant team, palliative care, ethics, specialty consultants in the inpatient, ICU, and outpatient settings. She has conducted and published original research. She enjoys writing in her spare time, as well as spending time with family and friends.
